![]() ![]() You can read a large RTF file but if you modify it in any way then save it while the flash drive is plugged into the CWA then the file will be corrupted. But unplugging the flash drive and writing to it directly from a computer and it works just fine. If you store a large RTF file over 5 MB in size the file will be corrupted. And there is a file size limit if you use a flash drive. File transfer time is slooooow, you can't add any kind of executable file to the connected HDD through the CWA, and any file you store or update through the CWA interface will have an incorrect creation and/or modification date. You absolutely have to have at least one Wi-Fi enabled device to talk to the CWA in order to set it up. I was able to send and receive files to it from every computer on my network. Do it in this order or the router won't recognize the CWA. When restarting your network turn on the router first then wait for the router to boot up first, then turn on the Canvio Wireless Adapter, or CWA. It was a struggle to get it to connect with my router. ![]() And while it does do that, it does it poorly. Works okay, but there is a lot of room for improvement.Īmong other things this is supposed to create a way to connect a portable HDD to your wireless network. Toshiba, really nice hardware, poor software. ![]()
